Article Summary

Replenish

Replenishments allow for both zone-based replenishment, as well as sourcing replenishment inventory across sites. This new form of replenishment will automatically create Inventory Requests for fulfillment and leverage the changes made for the Task API and Move Orders. The Inventory Replenishment Type config can be set to use the following methods:

Legacy –

Traditional replenishments coming from within a single site based on Primary Bin assignment and min/max quantities.

Internal –

Advanced replenishment functionality to create transfers and move orders to replenish from other sites.

API –

Replenishments will be handled externally via the API.

Detailed Functionality

The Zone/Item Assignment page can be used to establish min/max Item quantities per zone and manage replenishment schedules.

Schedules can be set up per Item/zone or per Item/Bin. They can be configured to run real-time (assessed every time the task runs), on designated days per week, or on a designated date of the month. If weekly or monthly replenishment is used, the time of day the replenishments are generated can be specified.

If monthly replenishment is set and a day higher than the max number of days in a month is chosen, for example, 31 for April, then replenishment will run on the last day of the month. If a specific replenishment time has been set for the Bin/Item or Zone/Item record, for example, Monday at 7:00AM, then the first time the SQL task runs at, or after the designated time, it will assess the inventory levels and create Inventory Requests, if necessary.

Designating a Zone or Bin as Primary is no longer required for replenishment but is instead used when determining suggested put away locations.

If advanced replenishment is turned on and not enough inventory exists in the destination site to fulfill the replenishment, the task logic will look across sites and generate Transfer Orders, as necessary, to ship the inventory from external sites. When doing so, it will attempt to draw inventory for the Primary Replenishment Site if possible and only if no inventory is available there will it look at other sites. The Primary Replenishment Site can be set on the Web Console on the Create & Edit Site Page:

Legacy Replenishments

The legacy Replenish function is used in unison with the Primary Bin functionality, in which a user has set up a minimum and maximum inventory level for single or multiple Items. Review Setting up Primary Bins for the steps needed to create Primary Bins, to trigger this replenishment process.

To begin, a user can view the current Maximum and Minimum level that are set up for a Bin. This can be viewed on the Web Console by going to Inventory Operations > Item Tools > Item/Bin Assignment.

After the Item with the Primary Bin has been set up and has gone below the minimum level that was issued, the WithoutWire system will auto-generate a replenishment move from the same site on the mobile device.

To process this replenishment, the user should now log into the mobile device, and navigate to the Replenish tile. Once within the Replenish tile, the user will see Items with Primary Bins that are below their minimum levels. In addition to this information, one will see the number that they will need to move to restock this Item to the maximum.

By tapping/scanning the Item number one wishes to restock, the user is brought to a screen where they can select a Bin that they can move inventory from to replenish the remaining quantities. The user selects this Bin by tapping/scanning the Bin number.

After selecting the Bin they wish to move materials from the user is finally brought to the Move screen where the user can now enter the quantity that is needed to replenish the maximum, finalize the move by pressing OK.
